UNP BUS 6  - Washington D.C.
Please click on the images below to see information and photos about each of these areas.
We arrived in Washington, DC at about 4:30pm Sunday, July 15, 2001.  After checking into our rooms at the
Savoy Suites Georgetown, we had pizza with a local Odd Fellow, Peter Geolot.  Dave was met by his
sister and her husband, also.  Before pizza, we took a tour of the National Cathedral which was just a few
blocks from our hotel.  Then we drove thru Washington, DC and toured two monuments; the New Franklin
D. Roosevelt monument with many water falls and the Jefferson Memorial.  The walk between the two was
along the Tidal Basin and was just beautiful after dark.

Jenna,Chase, Matt, Andrew, Niki, and Katie. Our driver, John Cook of Fullington Trailways, "made us stop" at the Canadian Embassy.  He wanted to show us this great area where the acoustics were fantastic.  John and the other driver, Jack, both added so much to our tour.  Thanks, Guys!

These pictures were taken from the top of the Old Post Office Building, which has an elevator to the top "for free"!  The building is now a shopping mall known as the Pavillion.  The dark lines are from cables that are meant to keep us in! We were touring around DC when Mary found the Marine barracks where her
husband had been stationed.  Jenna,
Niki, Brittney, and Rachel found
someone to pose with out in front!
Who are these crazy folks?  And why do they keep following us? This is the room I had at the Savoy Suites Georgetown and the view from my window of the Russian Embassy!

The United Nations Pilgrimage for Youth Bus 6 left Philadelphia Tuesday,
July 17th, 2001.  The 42 Delegates and two Tour Leaders had a great time.
They want to thank everyone who made this possible; the Odd Fellow and
Rebekah lodges and the many individuals who we met along our route.  We
saw and did so much!  It will be a trip that will live with us forever.
Hopefully we will live up to your expectations!   Thank you for the memories!
